SEIU Local 721’s Juneteenth
event branding

I partnered with SEIU Local 721’s African American Caucus to create the event branding for their Juneteenth celebration. Inspired by the textiles of the event, I used hand drawn elements and vibrant colors to illustrate the theme.

For their 2017 event I was influenced by the African textiles decorating the event and donned by guests. I used hand drawn elements filled with energy, movement and rich character to reflect the event as a celebration of African American culture and history.

The combination of strong typography, a rich color story inspired by the textiles of the event, and expressive imagery visually embody the theme.
